Half or Full-Day Retreats

We facilitate retreats for leadership teams or full teams that are highly engaging, meet the needs of your team, and lead to actionable takeaways that transform the future work of your team.

How do we do it?

"Having worked with a number of facilitators for Executive Team Offsites I can confidently say that Kyle is one of the best I have worked with and by far the most engaging. Every member of our team felt like we could have done another few days together which is a testament to the energy and enthusiasm Kyle brings.

He worked with us to build a custom agenda and content in order to achieve the goals we had laid out for our time and at the end of the day the team came away with actionable steps forward. I can’t wait to have more members of our team get to work with Kyle."

- David Green, CEO at Earnest

"Shaffer Coaching + Consulting served as our signature program at our week-long Summer Leadership Retreat. Everyone that leads, mentors, coaches, or manages another adult at our school participated in Kyle’s expert reflection and application of Adam Grant’s recent text, “Hidden Potential.” Each of our leaders have already asked for Kyle to come back next year. The work is real and the impact on student learning is measurable!"

- Dr. John Barnhardt, President/CEO Bishop McNamara High School, Washington, DC

  • Step One

    Free Exploratory Conversation

We meet to get to know one another, understand your objectives for your retreat and share more about what we do.

If there’s interest from there, SC+C will draft a proposal for the content and flow of the retreat.

Here’s where you make your decision.

  • Step Two

Iterate to Polish Content and Timing

Based on the initial draft shared, we have a follow up meeting to discuss what resonates and what you would add or change from the first draft.

Based on this discussion, SC+C revises and shares a final draft for reaction.

Through this process, we’ve ensured we’re ready to rock! We take it and plan all the details, including slides, materials, speaker notes. Planning is our jam.

  • Step Three

    Deliver a World-Class Session

We expect and you can expect a highly engaging day. We use a variety of modes of engagement to ensure all participants are thinking, discussing, and reflecting.

Participants will make individual and team commitments throughout our session.

At the end, we will summarize by sharing key takeaways and making commitments to actions.

  • Step Four

    Follow Up Meeting

We set up time to debrief the day together.

By leveraging your enabling systems (i.e. meetings, communication structures, etc…), we discuss ways that you (or a designated point person) can help ensure the commitments from the session lead to action and are a living breathing part of your organization.

“Kyle immediately earned the trust of PMG’s executive team at our annual leadership summit, where we focused on fostering a culture of high achievement. His ability to elicit candid sharing between team members was instrumental in creating a long-term shift in how we communicate about organizational goals and effectiveness.”

- Brian Koles, Sr. Director, Corporate Development, Property Markets Group (PMG)
